Strategic  Plan

The IPW Strategic Planning Session Report and Draft Strategic Plan for 2021-2025 outlines the organization’s approach, strategic goals, and anticipated outcomes. The approach includes community-centered learning, responsiveness, anti-racism, and working in good spirit. The strategic goals focus on pandemic recovery, mental health support, Indigenous-newcomer relations, and addressing systemic racism in law enforcement. The plan aims to address the disproportionate impact of the pandemic on newcomers, support culturally responsive mental health services, strengthen Indigenous-newcomer relationships, and work towards a more equitable justice system. The plan was developed with input from stakeholders and the IPW Council.

Terms of  Reference

The Immigration Partnership Winnipeg (IPW) is a project funded by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to facilitate the successful integration of newcomers to Winnipeg. The IPW Council, composed of stakeholders from various sectors, is responsible for overseeing IPW activities. The mandate includes increasing economic and social inclusion, enhancing community capacity to address newcomers’ needs, promoting awareness of integration needs, and addressing racism. The Council is a decision-making body that initiates discussions, advises on community engagement, develops action plans, and advocates for change. The IPW secretariat supports administrative tasks, research, communication, and reporting to IRCC.
