Participating in job opportunities related to Canadian federal elections offers newcomers valuable insight into Canada’s democratic process, local connections, and Canadian work experience. These roles help build civic knowledge, practical skills, and a sense of belonging, supporting newcomers on their path to becoming active, engaged citizens.
IPW is partnering with West Central Women’s Resource Centre to present a virtual employment workshop that shares information about federal election job opportunities and details on how to apply. The workshop is open to Naturalized Citizens (immigrants who have received their Canadian citizenship), or future new Canadians (immigrants who have applied for Canadian citizenship and expect to receive it soon) who are 16 years and older.
The virtual workshop is scheduled for Thursday, November 14th, 2024 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Attendees should register online by filling the registration form found at this link: https://forms.office.com/r/CVgvUQAewR. Any related inquiries can be emailed to Carolina at cmeneseszamora@spcw.mb.ca.
