August 9 — Representatives of IPW and the Ethnocultural Council of Manitoba (ECCM) met with the staff of the Manitoba Craft Council to learn more about each other prior to an upcoming collaboration.
The guests came by the C2 Centre for Craft where the Manitoba Craft Council shares the space with the Manitoba Crafts Museum and Library. Executive Director Tammy Sutherland and Programme and Community Engagement Coordinator Katrina Craig welcomed the group with a guided tour of their gallery’s current exhibition entitled “Lupa ay Buhay | Land is Life,” which features Filipino crafts.
After the gallery tour, the group enjoyed some light snacks and refreshments as they continued discussing ideas for their joint project. The visit wrapped up with both parties agreeing to schedule a follow-up meeting to work out the concept and details of their collaboration.
