Starting a new life in a new country can be exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming. Finding the right information, meeting new people, and learning about the community are important first steps. The Newcomer Welcome Fair was created to make those first steps easier.
On Saturday, July 18, 2026, newcomers, immigrants, refugees, and long-time residents are invited to come together for the 10th Annual Newcomer Welcome Fair at Freight House Field (200 Isabel Street) from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission is free, and everyone is welcome.
For the past ten years, the Newcomer Welcome Fair has been one of Winnipeg’s largest community events dedicated to welcoming newcomers. Every year, hundreds of families attend to discover settlement services, learn about community programs, enjoy cultural performances, meet organizations, and celebrate the many cultures that make Winnipeg a vibrant place to live. The event has become a place where friendships begin, questions are answered, and newcomers feel that they belong.
This year’s milestone celebration offers even more opportunities. Visitors can explore dozens of community resource booths, speak with organizations that provide settlement and support services, enjoy activities for the whole family, and experience music, performances, and cultural celebrations from many communities.
New for 2026 is a dedicated Employers Section, where job seekers can connect directly with employers and organizations that are hiring. Whether you are looking for your first job in Canada or planning your next career step, this area will help you learn about employment opportunities and meet potential employers.
